EcoFlux Ltd was incorporated in Scotland in November 2025. We build software products, and we research how to make the computing that runs them less wasteful.
Why the company exists
EcoFlux began with an infrastructure question. Modern computing — particularly the dense hardware behind machine learning — converts a very large amount of electricity into heat, and in most facilities that heat is deliberately thrown away. Meanwhile, district heat networks across the United Kingdom are actively looking for low-carbon heat sources to supply homes and public buildings.
Those two facts sit oddly next to each other. Our research is concerned with closing that gap: capturing heat directly at the processor, at a temperature high enough to be genuinely useful, and delivering it into a network that already has customers waiting for it.
Where the software comes in
Answering an infrastructure question well requires building a lot of software — modelling tools, data pipelines, monitoring and analysis. That practice grew into a discipline in its own right, and today the studio designs and ships consumer and professional applications as its principal activity.
The two strands reinforce each other. Building products keeps us close to the realities of running software at scale; the energy work keeps us honest about what that actually costs.

How we operate
We are a small studio, and we plan accordingly. These are the working principles that follow from that.
Small scope, finished properly
We would rather release a narrow product that works completely than a broad one that works partly. Scope is the thing we cut; quality is not.
Build with the tools we trust
Foundations are built on mature, well-documented technology. We spend our novelty budget on the part of the product that differentiates it.
Own the whole path
Design, engineering, infrastructure and release are handled together, so nothing important falls into a gap between disciplines.
Respect the user's data
We collect what a feature genuinely requires and no more, and we are explicit in each product about what is stored and why.
Efficiency as a design input
Compute costs energy. Treating that as a real constraint tends to produce faster software as a side effect.

We describe what is released, what is in development and what is still research, without blurring the boundaries between them.

Founder & Director
Navinderjit founded EcoFlux to pursue heat recovery from high-density computing, and leads both the research programme and the studio's software work. They are responsible for product direction, engineering and the company's partnerships.
